Mario started playing the guitar at the age of 15.In a short time he began playing professionally in clubs in his home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario. He later moved to Toronto where he attended the Humber College Music Program. There he studied composition, improvisation, and arranging with some of Canadas top jazz educators.Mario has studied with Lorne Lofsky, Ted Quinlan in Toronto and Ben Monder, Rez Abbassi in New York City.
Mario has performed all across Canada, United States, and the Carribean. He toured with Garden Bros. Circus for 3 seasons and played such venues as SkyDome, Correll Center, and Copps Colisium. Mario currently leads his own trio that focusus on composition and improvised music.
Mario teaches all levels and many different styles including
rock, blues, jazz, and country. Cirriculum encompasses technique, repetoire, and theory.
