Emer has been teaching both piano and voice for the last 10 years. Her love of music started at an early age with the piano. Emer began studying classical piano at the Royal Conservatory at age 7 and soon after started studying voice privately. Many years later she developed a love for jazz and pop music. This new direction from classical music to jazz led her to the commercial jazz program at Humber College where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in vocal jazz and arranging. She graduated from this program with Honors in 2006 and went on to do a degree in education at York University graduating in 2008.
As well as teaching Emer performs and writes her own music. She is passionate about composition and has helped many students arrange and record their own music. In 2006 she release her first professional EP entitled Lucid Dreams. She is currently working on her first full length CD to be released in 2010.
