Digital Music / Electronic Composition & Recording

The world of music has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. We can now make music with computers and synthesizers to create new sounds and hybrids that have never existed. Technology has made it possible for everyone with a personal computer to explore these untapped areas of music composition. Making music with electronic tools does not replace creating music with traditional instruments but enlarges the scope of what music can be, and challenges musicians to tap into new and un-chartered creativity and play, expanding the already infinite possibilities of music.

We are very proud to introduce Digital Music at Dave Snider Music Centre. We feel this program offers great opportunities for students and practicing musicians. Results from the program will include enhanced creativity, exploration of your original musical ideas, and the immediate results of listening to your own music on Compact Disc. The Digital Music program is taught by Howard Goldbach. Howard is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (Bachelor of Music, Composition Major), and is well versed with the tools needed to get you started in this field.

The Digital Music Program offers students a chance to record musical ideas using computer sequencing software to help explore and enhance creativity. Classes are offered weekly, or recording sessions can be booked by the hour. Students and musicians can book time to record music they have written or are working on. For more info, and to discuss the possibilities in more detail email: snidermusic@snidermusic.com or howardgoldbach@sympatico.ca.
