Instruments: Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele
Styles: Classic Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Beginners, Pop, Folk, Theory & Harmony
Brian McIntyre has been playing guitar for
26 years.
Along with his extensive credentials, Brian is one of the most genuine, down to earth teachers one can come across. He has studied with Peter Harris,
Greg Stone, Toni Zorzi and Silvio Simone. Brian is also a
graduate of Humber College where he majored in Performance
and Compositon. Brian’s musical strengths lie in Rock, Blues
and Folk. He is fluent in both fingerstyle and flat picking
and enjoys teaching the finer points of technique.
In addition, Brian also teaches theory up
to grade 4 conservatory level, beginner bass guitar and banjo.
Along with being a teacher for the past ten years, Brian also
has a strong background in performance. He has played in an
Italian wedding band, acoustic duos, a classic rock band and
an original metal band - Casual Damage - with whom he recorded
the c.d. "Beyond Repair". Brian has also performed on television
and radio. In his lessons, Brian stresses the importance of
the "fun" aspect of the guitar. This is done by letting the
student’s interests dictate what is covered in the lessons.
This approach enhances the students enjoyment of the lessons
and makes practice much more enjoyable rather than being a
chore.
